Former Flatline guitarist Randy Weitzel has been hospitalized. The Metal Den sent over this statement from his wife: "Hey all, Randy's wife Bridget here. Randy asked me to let you all know what happened to him (yesterday). We brought him to the ER early in the am with a horrific sore throat. Through the events of the day, we found out he has a severe bacterial infection of some sort.
They rushed him into surgery, intubated him and put him on a ventilator to help him breathe. He is currently in ICU and will be for a few days. Randy's been sober and hasn't had a cigarette in over 6 months, so none of this is related to any of that. His vocal chords swelled up so severely, that his airway was almost completely constricted. - more on this story
