Last Saturday, Los Angeles based KROQ Radio held its annual summer concert event, the KROQ Weenie Roast at the Verizon Amphitheater with 14 bands performing including a special comeback performance by iconic 80s band Devo. Prior to going on stage, DEVO dropped by the back stage Gift Lounge to sign two drum stools (provided by Maison Bertet). The drum stools will be donated to charities, The Surfrider Foundation and Heal the Bay to be auctioned at a later date. Both charities benefit from KROQ Weenie Roast ticket sales.
2010 is the first year that KROQ has hosted a Gift Lounge at the Weenie Roast. Hype Circle converted the backstage area which was furnished by Maison Bertet into a special gifting lounge for artists and their guests to hang out and receive product as a thank you for participating in the show.
Some bands and special guests that visited the backstage gifting suite included Against Me!, The Silversun Pickups, Spoon, members of Hole, Rome with Sublime, Devo, the Deftones, Paramore, Dr. Drew, Emile Hirsch, Tony Kanal from No Doubt, and many more.
