Last night the Ray Johnston Band launched a summer tour that will see them sharing the stage with Los Lonely Boys, The Fray, The BoDeans and more. This is the first tour for The Ray Johnston Band which formed in 2009 after former Dallas Maverick Ray Johnston beat cancer for the 5th time.

During this first juggernaut, The Ray Johnston Band will perform at storied venues throughout Texas, Louisiana and in Rays home state of Alabama. It was an honor to get to play for the Dallas Mavericks and to be a part of that amazing team, says Johnston. It's is no less amazing to be a part of the brilliant camaraderie among these great musicians who have agreed to be a part of The Ray Johnston Band. A self-taught guitarist, Johnston crafts catchy relatable songs that his growing legion of fans have come to appreciate. That sparkling repertoire, coupled with a high-energy live show highlighted by the bands stellar musicianship makes for a compelling evening of great music. It is important to me, in the live show, to challenge my band and let each musician shine, says Johnston who has surrounded himself with players of the highest caliber, each of whom could easily take the spotlight on their own. But the basketball analogy pervades -- this is a team and the winning is a collective endeavor.
