Natalie Merchant and Kris Kristofferson Head Up Cambridge Folk Festival

(Gibson) The historic Cambridge Folk Festival kicks off its first full day today and is in its 45th year. The event, running through August 1, is set in the beautiful garden settings of Cambridge's Cherry Hinton Hall grounds in England. Never a bastion of folk purism, the festival has historically taken a broad view of folk music, embracing world and roots music back in the '80s. This year's fest will include zydeco, blues, bluegrass, traditional English folk, Celtic music, ceilidhs, cajun and klezmer artists. Headliners this year include Kris Kristofferson, on Sunday, Natalie Merchant, on Saturday and Jools Holland favorite, the one-man blues band, Seasick Steve tonight. - more on this story
