(Gibson) It was the album of 1981 for high school kids across America. Not only was it the biggest selling rock album of the year, but it also charted six singles on the Billboard charts, including "Take It on the Run" and prom favorite, "Keep on Loving You." It was, of course, Hi Infidelity, the highest-selling album by Champaign, Illinois' REO Speedwagon. And its success came at the perfect time for the band. As singer Kevin Cronin told Billboard, the album came at a time when the band was "literally on the brink of being dropped by our label. This was kind of our last chance." But of course, it was a success, eventually being certified nine-times platinum. "This is 2010, so we're kind of celebrating 30 years since we recorded the album," Cronin continued. "Next year is 2011 -- 30 years since 1981, the year that rocked our world... The Hi Infidelity record was such a turning point for us, just on a personal and professional level. And an awful lot of people took this music into their lives, into their hearts. It's just too special of a time to ignore, so I just decided for this anniversary I'm going to embrace it and go for it... We're milking it for everything it's worth!" - Find out what that involves here
