hardDrive with Lou Brutus Turns 14

07/01/2010
.
United Stations Radio Networks' nationally syndicated new rock program, “hardDrive with Lou Brutus,” will be celebrating it’s 14th Anniversary on the air by declaring that the Summer of 2010 is the “Summer of Lou’s Loot.”

Several contests and listener fly-away promotions will be broadcast across the national network of stations that broadcast the program. This announcement came from United Stations EVP/Programming Andy Denemark in New York.

“hardDrive” was developed in 1996 by producer Roxy Myzal, who is both a music industry veteran and America’s leading rock radio producer. The program is designed for Active Rock and Rock radio stations, as well as Alternative stations who play harder rock.

The show debuted over the 4th of July weekend, 1996, and United Stations has been producing, distributing and handling all sales and affiliate marketing efforts since January 2001. To celebrate its 14th anniversary, hardDrive will be orchestrating trip giveaways to the RockStar Mayhem date in Indianapolis, to the opening night of the RockStar Uproar tour in Minneapolis, to the Rock N Rev shows in Sturgis, SD and to see Ozzy Osbourne at the Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans. Additionally, autographed guitars and other collectibles will be given away via on-air promotions on the program this summer, and it’s all part of the birthday celebration. As hardDrive producer Roxy Myzal put it, “Even though it’s OUR birthday, the presents are for the fans!”

Another reason for the show and its staff to celebrate is that with the recent addition of KDZZ in Rochester, MN and WZOR in Green Bay, WI, the weekly hardDrive lineup has hit 120 stations. Host Lou Brutus added, “"The success of hardDrive is due directly to the love and support of our listeners who seem to agree with me that the volume control never goes loud enough."

“hardDrive with Lou Brutus” is a two-hour weekly long-form program that contains new rock music, artist interviews, news and information on all things in the world of new rock music. The program is produced and written by Myzal. The show is hosted by well-known rock personality LOU BRUTUS, who has been an air talent at legendary stations including WMMR/Philadelphia, WHJY/Providence, WHFS/Washington, DC and WRCX/Chicago. Over the years, the program has proved to be instrumental in the careers of countless new rock artists from Korn and Rage Against The Machine to Slipknot and Five Finger Death Punch.

hardDrive also launched the very first branded tour by a syndicated radio program, the HARDDRIVE LIVE TOUR, which visited over 40 cities in late 2009. A similarly structured, multi-artist tour should be announced shortly for this year, and that 2010 hardDrive Live Tour is tentatively set to be on the road form late September through early November.

Additionally, in February 2007, the hardDrive brand was extended into daily program production with the addition of hardDrive XL to the United Stations lineup. That program airs via satellite for five hours per night, five nights per week and is heard on nearly fifty (50) stations coast to coast.
