The Right Now Announce Spring Tour

02/17/2010
.
YouTube fame and Facebook notoriety do not hold a candle to the soul band that tours with a toddler. The Right Now hits the road this spring to support their debut album, Carry Me Home, which drops March 3, 2010, in stores and online nationwide.

Stefanie Berecz, 24-year old lead singer of Chicago's sensational soul band, The Right Now, totes her baby girl, Angelene, on tour around the country because -- as she plainly points out -- "I wouldn't have it any other way. This is a family affair and this band is a huge extension of my family." Berecz's voice is lauded whenever and wherever she performs; her 2005 stint on P. Diddy's television show "Making The Band" only helped boost her career, and the accolades have been building ever since. The Reader has complimented her "big, fluid voice"; Time Out Chicago calls her soaring vocals "remarkable."

The record is written and performed by brilliant musicians at personal crossroads. According to keyboardist, guitarist and songwriter Brendan O'Connell, "The title Carry Me Home refers to the lullaby I wrote for Angelene, but also to the idea that we've all been through a lot over the past few years. It's been a struggle and we've finally made it home." Indeed, on the new release Berecz and The Right Now sound as comfortable as an Aretha record on a Sunday morning, pumping out the tightest, most dynamic brand of soul this side of Memphis.

The Right Now manages to balance stellar songcraft, the unshakeable, spot-on rhythm guitar of Chris Corsale, a solid bedrock of rhythm and horns, and most strikingly, the soaring lead vocals of Berecz--imagine Joss Stone backed up by The Funk Brothers. They've shared the stage with renowned artists Jamie Lidell, Bela Fleck, Justin Townes Earle, Dr. Dog, Tortured Soul, The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker, as well as other R&B, soul and pop greats. They regularly sell out shows in their hometown, and they are ready to take the country by storm.
