Foxy Shazam Major Label Debut Announced

Inimitable rock 'n' soul sextet Foxy Shazam has announced the release of their self-titled Sire Records album on April 13, 2010. Produced by John Feldmann, Foxy Shazam is the Cincinnati, OH band's major label debut. To support the album, Foxy Shazam will be taking their good times mobile with a nationwide headlining tour beginning March 15th in Nashville, TN. Stops in New York, Los Angeles and a stint at the SXSW Music Conference in Austin, TX will give fans a chance to experience their notoriously rambunctious live show. Prior to their US dates, Foxy will be heading across the pond to play the NME Awards show with Hole on February 17th. Citing influences as varied as Marvin Gaye, Elton John and "Born To Run"-era Bruce Springsteen, Foxy Shazam has been creating unique, genre-defying music since they formed in 2004. From the anthemic "Unstoppable" to doo wop power ballad "Bye Bye Symphony" and the swooning "Connect Me," Foxy Shazam is an amalgam of blues, soul, and brash pop bound by a no holds barred punk-rock aesthetic. Their songs "glitter like diamonds and kick like mules" said SPIN magazine, who named the band one of 10 Artists to Watch in 2010 in their December/January issue, and Simon Price of the London Observer declared "their ability to knock out killer tunes, wickedly witty wordplay and exuberantly maximalist sound (Andrew WK meets Dexys meets Springsteen) has already caused ripples, but it's on stage that they'll really blow your mind. Foxy Shazam are the band who ought to be all over next summer's festivals, painting smiles on everyone's faces." Foxy Shazam's debut single "Unstoppable" was featured on Sunday's broadcast of the 44th annual Superbowl. The track is currently available for sale exclusively on iTunes Foxy Shazam headlining tour dates are as follows:3/15 – Exit/In – Nashville, TN 3/17 – Las Palmas Racetrack – Las Palmas, TX 3/18 – House of Blues – Houston, TX 3/19 – SXSW – Austin, TX 3/20 – SXSW – Austin, TX 3/21 – White Rabbit – San Antonio, TX 3/22 – The High Ground – Metarie, LA 3/23 – Juanitas – Little Rock, AR 3/24 – Masquerade – Atlanta, GA 3/26 – Orpheum – St. Petersburg, FL 3/27 – Jack Rabbits – Jacksonville, FL 3/28 – Canal Club Downstairs – Richmond, VA 3/29 – Studio @ Webster Hall – New York, NY 3/30 – Great Scotts – Boston, MA 3/31 – Knitting Factory – Brooklyn, NY 4/01 – Webster Underground – Hartford, CT 4/03 – Petit Camps – Montreal, QC 4/05 – Sneeky Dees – Toronto, ON 4/06 – Mohawk Place – Buffalo, NY 4/07 – The Basement – Columbus, OH 4/08 – Eagle Theater – Detroit, MI 4/09 – Mad Hatter – Cincinnati, OH 4/10 – Beat Kitchen – Chicago, IL 4/11 – The Vault – Minneapolis, MN 4/13 – Marquis Theater – Denver.
