Dutch independent Mascot Records has announced the March 13th release of Volbeat's 2-disc DVD Live: Sold-Out! Since the Danish metal quartet's formation in October, 2001, VOLBEAT has steadily risen to become one of the major attractions in the European scene. In an age of retreads, the band has been offering a unique blend of metallic hard rock alongside inspired Elvis-tinged melodies, and the world has taken notice. Singer / Guitarist Michael Poulsen shared, "The idea for this DVD was to bring VOLBEAT to those fans who have not seen us before in their own country, for them to be a small part of the beginning. We hope they enjoy it, and come out to see us for themselves when we are back in North America."
All three of the band's prior releases from Mascot Records have been certified gold in Denmark, while Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood (2008) and The Strength / The Sound / The Songs (2005) achieved platinum sales.
Most recently the band toured North America as support for Metallica, adding a sold-out headline Los Angeles show to the itinerary at the Troubadour. Volbeat is Michael Poulsen (Vocals / Guitar), Anders Kjølholm (Bass), Jon Larsen (Drums) and Thomas Bredahl (Guitar).
LIVE: SOLD-OUT! captures the quartet throughout 2007 as they appeared in small clubs, the European festival circuit, and as a headliner in bigger venues. Seven performances were documented by award winning company Roux Films. Long-time producer Jacob Hansen mixed the audio.
The 2-disc set features bonus material and the band's videos. The track listing on DVD one is: "Introduction," "The Human Instrument," "Danny and Lucy," "Caroline #1," "Radio Girl," "Mr. & Mrs. Ness," "Sad Man's Tongue," "A Moment Forever," "Rebel Monster," "Soulweeper 2," "Devil and The Blue Cat's Song," "Caroline Leaving," "Soulweeper," "Pool Of Booze," "Something Else," "Always With You," "Intro / Encore," "I Only Wanna Be With You," "River Queen," "The Garden's Tale," "Outroduction," followed by the video clips "I Only Wanna Be With You," "The Garden's Tale," "Soulweeper," "Radio Girl," and "Sad Man's Tongue." The disc one program ends with a photo gallery. The second disc presents a documentary exploring subjects that include musical favorites, influences, songwriting, Denmark, touring, fans, and much more.
Future plans for the band's return to the U.S. will be announced once formalized.
