Bored Gorillaz

(Gibson) As previously reported, Damon Albarn crafted the new Gorillaz album The Fall (available as a free download on Christmas) while on tour with the band in North America. He told Gorillaz.com that he made the album on his iPad over 32 days in order to avoid getting bored."I did it because there's a lot of time that you just spend staring at walls essentially. And it was a fantastic way of doing it," he said. "I found working in the day, whether it's in the hotel or in the venue, it was a brilliant way of keeping myself well." Albarn said that the album might see a physical release in 2011 and is "like a diary" of the tour. Certainly many of the song titles namecheck American locales that Gorillaz visited on their recent trek. "I literally wrote everything on the day in each place and there's a strange sort of sound of America and its musical traditions that comes through," he said. "It feels like a journey through America." full track list
