(Gibson) Wilco have announced plans to curate and headline a second annual 'Solid Sound' festival, which will be held the weekend of June 24-26, 2011 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. A lineup of performers is still being put together.Last year, the band decided that rather than join up with any number of existing rock festivals, they'd host their own, ensuring that they could perform on their own terms alongside bands they wanted to see. The fest has also given Wilco members a chance to put their solo projects in the spotlight. The first Solid Sound was held at the museum last August, and featured performances by the Nels Cline Singers, the John Stirratt/Pat Sansone project Autumn Defense, Mike Jorgensen's Pronto, and Glen Kotche's On Fillmore. Solid Sound also features comedy acts, DJs, and video and art exhibits and installations.
