(Submitted) Eenie Meenie Records has announced the Feb 8, 2011 release of 'Sleepwalker,' the new album by Shon Sullivan under his Elliott Smith coined nickname Goldenboy. The album was written by Sullivan, demoed in his garage studio and later recorded with full band in two different southern California studios, Intersteller and Leaning Pine.
Veteran producer Don Tayler, who mastered all of Elliott Smith's records, sequenced and mastered the album. Fans of Goldenboy's previous releases will find 'Sleepwalker' showcases Sullivan's talent as songwriter and multi instrumentalist who masters piano, cello, guitar and voice for an unfancy yet affecting pop lushness which dovetails perfectly with the understated charms of the band's previous LPs, including 2006's critically acclaimed 'Underneath the Radio.'
Before his solo career, Shon Sullivan, a native of Diamond Bar, CA, first toured and recorded with Spain before Elliott Smith recruited Sullivan to be a member of his band. It was during his four years in Elliott's band that Sullivan also began writing his own music as Goldenboy. As the go-to multi-talented artist in LA, Sullivan has also worked with Neil Finn, Johhny Marr, The Eels, Matt Sharp/The Rentals, Ed Harcourt and many more. Goldenboy have toured with Bright Eyes, Stephen Malkmus, and Grandaddy to name but a few, and will be setting out as a full band for much touring throughout 2011, including shows at SXSW.
