Greyson Chance's debut single "Waiting Outside the Lines" will be released next Tuesday, December 14th.Greyson's first CD will also include a never before heard version of the song that made him an internet sensation, Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi," as well as a powerful cover of "Fire" by Augustana.
Additionally, the single will feature a bonus video component. "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will premiere a clip of the video for his single "Waiting Outside the Lines" on her show airing Tuesday, December 14th. That same day the video will premiere in full on VEVO.com.
"The 'Waiting Outside the Lines' video takes you on a journey. I had so much fun working on it and am really excited to share it with my fans!" said Greyson. The video was directed by Sanaa Hamri (Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Sting, Jay-Z, Christina Aguilera) and shot in Los Angeles. "With 'Waiting Outside The Lines' I heard and saw Greyson and the piano in different environments. The metaphor of this video is how we're all transported when we hear music," said Hamri.
Greyson is currently in the studio in Los Angeles working on his debut album with a top team of producers including acclaimed songwriter/producer and Geffen Records chairman Ron Fair (Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas, Pussycat Dolls).
The album is expected early 2011 on eleveneleven/Maverick/Geffen. Greyson recently took some time out of the studio to visit the PS22 chorus in Staten Island, NY where they performed "Waiting Outside the Lines." He also performed recently at KIIS-FM's tree lighting ceremony at Nokia Plaza in Los Angeles.
In April 2010, the sixth-grader posted a clip on YouTube of himself performing Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" at a choir event at Cheyenne Middle School in hometown Edmond, Oklahoma. A phenomenon among social media sites, the video was viewed by over 30 million people and led to a performance two weeks later on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." Only a week after that, during his second appearance on her show, DeGeneres announced that she had signed the youngster to her newly formed label, eleveneleven. Since then, YouTube clips of Chance performing his original compositions "Stars" and "Broken Hearts" have continued to win over fans. For more information on Greyson visit www.greyson-official.com
