Daryl Hall and Jose Feliciano join together for a special holiday edition in the 37th installment of the award-winning Live From Daryl's House web show. The Puerto Rican-born, eight-time Grammy winner first exploded onto the pop music scene 40 years ago, earning Best New Artist and Best Pop Song of the Year at the 1969 ceremony for his hit version of The Doors' "Light My Life," which he performs with Daryl Hall on the latest Live From Daryl's House web show, premiering Dec. 15 exclusively at www.lfdh.com.
"It was an amazing experience to hang out with such a talented individual as Daryl Hall," said Feliciano about his Live From Daryl's House appearance. "Not only that, but his wonderful personality goes with his great talent."
The latest edition of the web show includes versions of the traditional 19th century poem and Christmas carol, "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," most recently recorded by Daryl Hall and John Oates for their 2006 album, Home for Christmas, where it hit #1 on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart. "Jingle Bell Rock" was also covered on the same release, while "Feliz Navidad," also included in the seven-song set, was a Top 20 AC hit for Feliciano in both 1998 and 2000. The set is rounded out with seasonal standards like "Little Drummer Boy" and "Christmas Must Be Tonight" (also on Home For Christmas) as well as covers of "Light My Fire" and James Taylor's "Fire and Rain," which Feliciano recorded for his most recent album, The Genius of Jose Feliciano Vol. II, produced by his partner of 20 years, percussionist Bob Conti, available on line at thegeniusofjosefeliciano.com.
Added Daryl: "I've always been a great admirer of Jose's talent, and this opportunity to perform with him on Live From Daryl's House was a real treat, particularly at this time of year when we can collaborate on some classic holiday songs in a warm, home setting. It's our own season's greetings and gift to our fans."
