(Webster) Gaylord Opryland Resort is kicking off the holiday season with their annual Hall of Trees exhibit and for the first time ever The Oak Ridge Boys are getting involved as a tree sponsor. Opryland’s Hall of Trees features an exciting display of decorated trees that raise money for charities in and around Middle Tennessee. Each tree is tied to a charity and includes major prizes which are donated by the tree sponsors. All of the trees, along with the prizes, will be auctioned off to benefit the respective charities. The Oak Ridge Boys have chosen Christmas 4 Kids as their benefactor for the 2010 Hall of Trees. Christmas 4 Kids is a not-for-profit organization that has been in existence for over 25 years providing many underprivileged children, each year, with their very own shopping spree. The organization was founded by a number of entertainment industry drivers, including the late Harley Pinkerman, the Oaks’ longtime bus driver. “We are honored that the Oak Ridge Boys have chosen Christmas 4 Kids as their charity of choice for The Hall of Trees,” explains the organization’s president, Debbie Lamberson, “The Oak Ridge Boys have supported our organization for many years by performing at our Annual Concert, participating in the Bus Show/Artist Meet and Greet and now by naming us as the beneficiary of the Oak Ridge Boys personally decorated Christmas Tree in The Hall of Trees.” Bids for your favorite tree in the Hall of Trees can be placed either online or in-person at the Gaylord Opryland Resort’s Ryman Exhibit Hall B. Trees are open to the public viewing from November 19 to December 20. Admission is $4 for children ages 4-11 and $6 for adults. You can also visit www.halloftrees.com to participate in the online auction. The prizes associated with The Oak Ridge Boys’ Christmas tree include a Fender Sonoran S acoustic guitar signed by each of the Oaks, twelve Oak Ridge Boys’ CDs, two Oak Ridge Boys’ DVDs, a collection of books signed by members of the group, an Oak Ridge Boys jacket donated by Richards & Southern and a basket of Oak Ridge Boys’ souvenir items including T-shirts, a bandana, woven throw and many more items. Also included are tickets to the Second Annual Oak Ridge Boys Rally, a three-day event scheduled for January 21-23, 2011, at the newly renovated Gaylord Opryland Resort. A private viewing of the 2010 Hall of Trees is included in the ticket package for guests attending The Oak Ridge Boys’ Christmas show, The Boys Are Back Home for Christmas, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort on Tuesday, December 21, 2010.
