Broadway musical FELA! will be filmed live at London's National's Olivier Theatre and broadcast to 86 screens in the United States, 85 Canadian theatres as well as in cinemas in three other continents, totaling 352 venues in 20 countries. All UK venues will debut this event on January 13, 2011 with varying dates occurring internationally (see www.ntlive.com for other international dates).
NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE performances are filmed live in high definition and broadcast via satellite, live in Europe and some SahrUS cities, and time-delayed in countries further afield. The performances at the National are nominated in advance to allow cameras greater freedom in the auditorium.

The FELA! - Original Broadway Cast Recording features the incomparable Sahr Ngaujah as Fela singing with members of the irrepressibly funky Antibalas. All 16 of the Fela compositions that are performed on stage each night, leaving sold-out audiences astonished and breathless at the end of every show, are on the record as are several songs performed by Funmalayo (Fela's mother) as played by the Tony-award winning Lilias White, and Sandra Izadore (Fela's American girlfriend) as played by Saycon Sengbloh. The record was produced by the Grammy-nominated Robert Sher.
