Quarterfly has signed to Rock Ridge Music and will be releasing their third album, "Do You Believe," in January 2011. The album was produced by Greg Archilla (Matchbox 20, Collective Soul, Edwin McCain), who also worked on the band's 2007 release, "Quarterfly II."
In addition to working with Archilla in two different studio sessions in Nashville, the band put in some studio time with Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue, Metallica, Queen), and also recorded at Edwin McCain's Whitestone Studios in Greenville, SC.
Says Archilla of Quarterfly: "Quarterfly is a band that plays great music and has an exciting live performance. They are a great group of guys whose music is infectious. If you haven't heard of or seen Quarterfly, they are a must see. Go to a live performance to get the full picture as to what these guys are all about. Feel the music!!"
Says band lead singer Kip Darby: "We're very excited to sign with Rock Ridge Music. We look forward to releasing our new record and working with Tom [Derr, label CEO] and the staff."
Says Derr of the signing: "The members of Quarterfly reach back to the rock we all grew up with. Nothing could be better."
As a former tour manager for a major label band, Darby realized his passion and began writing songs, which led to Quarterfly coming together in 2004. They have shared the stage with Marvelous 3, Drivin' 'n' Cryin', Stabbing Westward, Cowboy Mouth, Sister Hazel, VAST, Chevelle, and Shinedown, and have performed more than 1000 shows across the Southeast. They released their debut album, "Bigger In Life," in 2005, with some of the songs from that album being featured on MTV's "Road Rules" and the "Real World." Quarterfly is: Jeff Jennings (lead guitar), Tim Morelock (bass, vocals), Brian Stuart (drums), and Kip Darby (lead vocals, guitar).
