Dwight Twilley Turns to Fans To Kick Start His New Album

08/23/2010
.
Dwight Twilley will release his new CD, Green Blimp, on October 5th through Big Oak Records and is looking to fans to kick start it.

The effort features special guests Susan Cowsill and Rocky Burnette, plus original Dwight Twilley Band guitarist Bill Pitcock IV. Recorded at his Big Oak Studio in Tulsa, Green Blimp captures Twilley at his absolute best, creating 12 magical pop music song gems with a unique production style combining his Beatles influences with early Sun Records roots rock 'n' roll. In addition to the CD version, the new album will also be issued on vinyl.

On his web site, Dwight Twilley has created a video for his fans to initiate a special KickStarter.com campaign to help fund this self-released album. Until September 12 at dwighttwilley.com, fans can pre-order autographed CD and vinyl copies of Green Blimp, as well as view other exclusive offers. Dwight is also giving away digital downloads of two bonus tracks recorded during the Green Blimp sessions.

With a documentary about Twilley's career in production, Green Blimp provides the perfect complement to the upcoming film, demonstrating his timeless ability to create recording magic. Spotlighted tracks include the hard driving opening track, "Get Up," the melodic harmony-filled "Me and Melanie" and the haunting ballad, "Let It Rain."
