(Gibson) David Gilmour has teamed up with British electronic group The Orb for their new album. Metallic Spheres, due to come out in October, features contributions from the Pink Floyd member on guitar and vocals. The album will also include work by Killing Joke bassist and Paul McCartney collaborator Martin "Youth" Glover.Floyd fans shouldn't be too surprised by the pairing of Gilmour and The Orb. The electronic music duo has remixed a number of Pink Floyd classics over the years, among them "Shine on You Crazy Diamond," "Echoes" and "Obscured by Clouds." Metallic Spheres will be available in multiple editions, including a 3D60 version, which allows the listener to hear tracks in three-dimensional sound.
