It's the end of the Murmur cover landmark as we know it. Maybe? Gibson reports: The fate of the trestle that graced the cover of R.E.M.'s Murmur album is hanging in the balance. As reported by OnlineAthens.com, unless voters in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, vote to extend a one percent sales tax for capital projects, the landmark tourist attraction will likely be torn down. Construction on a hiking and biking trail is set to begin in a few months, but money has not been appropriated for the section that includes the trestle. - more on this story
