Will Aerosmith's Steven Tyler be hired as a new judge on American Idol? Apparently, he doesn't even know despite his bandmate Joe Perry saying, "We're told it's a done deal."When asked by an online tabloid if he would be appearing on American Idol, he responded, "You know … I don't know … they haven't called me yet. They've got to lay out the bread for me baby!" more. Tyler has previously only confirmed that an offer was made, but appeared to be leaning towards taking the gig, "I'm probably going to be a judge on 'American Idol.' I'm doing it. What do you think? I'm doing it."
But the lack of contact from American Idol's producers doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't have the gig as one of the show's other judges who is largely rumored to be getting the axe hasn't been told of her fate yet.
Billboard reports that Kara DioGuardi's father, a U.S. Senate contender in New York, says "Would you believe she did not hear -- and still has not heard -- anything?" Joe DioGuardi said on the New York TV show "Capital Tonight."
"She read it the way you did and I did. Her disappointment is that that's the way she's being treated and she feels that's not proper. I think they're trying to create a lot of buzz... they're trying to reformat the thing. But Kara has a very deep career in music... she'll be fine. Would she want to do it another year? I think so... I think at some point [she] will confront them on that."
