The Day in Rock Digest for 8/12/10: Arcade Fire have topped the Billboard Hot 200 with their third studio album "The Suburbs". The effort leads the U.S. albums chart with 156,000 copies, becoming the highest opening number for any indie album since Pearl Jam's 2009 "Backspacer" sold 189,000 copies via the band's own label. more

Sum 41 have pulled out of the Vans Warped Tour to allow injured frontman Deryck Whibley to recover after he was attacked in a bar brawl. Whibley was hospitalized after three men reportedly assaulted him during a night out in Japan last week. more
