My Morning Jacket Working On New Album

(Gibson.com) It's been a long two years since My Morning Jacket dropped the brilliant Evil Urges, but frontman Jim James told Rolling Stone this week that his band already had five songs in the can for their sixth LP. "We've worked a couple weeks," James told the rag backstage after his solo set at the Newport Folk Festival this past weekend. "We're going to do another month [of recording]. It'll probably be out mid-next year — probably May." James also revealed that he'd co-produce the album, as he has with all prior MMJ releases. MMJ's forthcoming album heralds a first for the band: their first time recording in their Louisville, KY, hometown. - more on this story
