Soundgarden Holding Hidden Ticket Hunt Today

Soundgarden are having a modern day equivalent to a scavenger hunt today. Well, sort of... Here is the announcement: Soundgarden is offering their fans in the Chicago area the chance to win tickets to their sold-out show at the Vic Theater on Thursday August 5. This is their first official show billed as Soundgarden in 13 years. Tickets and other prizes will be hidden in various locations around Chicago and clues of the band's whereabouts will be left via Twitter and Foursquare. On August 5, a member of the Soundgarden team will travel the city streets using Foursquare's mobile app to check in at a handful of locations, leaving pairs of tickets and mementos along the way. The first lucky fan to check in after the band at each location will win the tickets. Follow the band on Twitter and Foursquare and watch them closely to find out more. Soundgarden recently announced the September 28 release of their first collection of music since 1996 in the form of Telephantasm. This multi-label, career-spanning retrospective album includes beloved band hits, deep back catalogue cuts and a never-before-heard unreleased track entitled "Black Rain," taken from the Badmotorfinger recording sessions. Soundgarden has partnered with innovative gaming publisher Activision Publishing, Inc. to release the album via A&M/UMe inside 1 million copies of the new videogame Guitar Heroฎ: Warriors of Rock. This release marks the first time a music album will be simultaneously released and bundled with a video game launch. All North American Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock launch units will contain the 12-song retrospective disc and will be exclusive to Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock for one week (until October 5). Additionally, fans will get full access to the band's new album as downloadable content for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock day and date with the launch of the game. The 12-song disc will then be available on October 5th at all music retail outlets and on the band's web site www.soundgardenworld.com.
