Gibson.com was on hand when Slash traveled to Singapore this week for his live debut in the country as a solo artist. Here is their report: On August 2nd, Slash had a career first, as he played at Fort Canning Park in Singapore. With his ace touring band, featuring Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy on vocals, the former Guns N' Roses and erstwhile Velvet Revolver axeman rocked the house with a mix of Guns classics, VR and Snakepit faves and a healthy selection from his hit solo album, Slash.
The show opened with a teeth-rattling version of "Ghost," from Slash, and continued with "Mean Bone," from Slash's Snakepit days. But the crowd really kicked into overdrive when the band launched into Appetite classic "Nightrain." Other high points included "Civil War," "Rocket Queen," an instrumental cover of the Godfather theme, "Sweet Child o' Mine" and set closer, "Slither." For the encore, Slash played "By the Sword" (which featured Wolfmother's Andrew Stockdale on the Slash album recording) and show closer, "Paradise City." - Check out photos here
