The second song of the Waylons' new single series, 'The Whole World,' is now available as a free download at www.waylons.com.The single is part of a series of summer releases available only through the band's website and at The Waylons' summer performances.
The Whole World follows the Waylons earlier single, Liquored Heroics. Both songs are country-flavored heartbreakersshuffling tempos, vocal harmonies, sliding guitar, and rich instrumentation lead the way, helped gracefully along by guest accordionist, Chris Alden. "Liquored Heroics" invokes the impotent aspirations of a hopeless protagonist.
"The Whole World," which will be available soon, is a world-weary lament with drummer Sandy Levering singing the lead, for the first (and hopefully not last!) time on a Waylons recording.
Both songs are recorded in what has become the band's DiY hybrid style, recording the songs themselves in rehearsal spaces and apartment bedrooms, and mixing with Josh Clark at Seaside Lounge Studios.
The first single is still available for a limited time here
