Long Beach bred producer and performer Quazedelic is excited to announce the release of his debut LP Stan Sly: AnuthaWorld. Featuring guest spots from Snoop Dogg, and others, Stan Sly: AnothaWorld will be released October 5, 2010 on Georgia Anne Muldrow and Declaime's fast rising label, SomeOthaShip Connect.
The album, produced entirely by Quaze and the result of a decade's worth of work, is a synthesis of sound and soul that harnesses the essence of funk with modern day trappings. A hybrid of George Clinton-esque syncopated grooves and Doggystyle bravado, Stan Sly: AnothaWorld delivers the writings of a new chapter in the saga of funk and soul. On the concept of Stan Sly, Quazedelic explains it as a holy matrimony between fantasy and reality. "I find inspiration in the chaos going on in my life. It takes something almost tragic to create some of my deepest songs," says Quaze, continuing, "I then go back to bridge the gap between serious real life songs with fantasy funk tracks. Like polarity, without one another it couldn't exist."
The self-proclaimed Electric Church Dogg has come a long way since his introduction to the game, facilitated by the iconic Sir-Mix-a-Lot and coming up under the tutelage of the legendary George Clinton. He has conquered nearly all avenues of success in the industry, producing and performing regularly with Snoop Dogg, including on his double platinum album, Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss, as well as producing on more than 18 additional gold and platinum efforts. Quaze's generosity in the form of creative energy towards other musician's has finally opened the gates and earned him the rights to construct his own creation that he proudly calls Stan Sly: AnothaWorld.
More than a producer, Quaze is a multi-instrumentalist, regularly taking his talents behind the keys on tour with George Clinton. Quaze first hooked up with George Clinton in 1999 while doing production for E-40's cousin B-Legit in the Bay Area. Legend has it that the funk-master summoned Quaze to work the boards at Off Planet Studios in the absence of the Clinton's head engineer. After the initial introduction, the two began collaborating and navigating the musical airwaves in search of the Funk. In the words of Quaze himself, "the rest was his-story". Ten years of consistent collaboration between Funkentstien and Kid Funk has passed culminating in Quaze's decision to hit the road as a full-time member of P-Funk – Quaze is currently on tour with George Clinton – and the release of his debut LP.
