The UK singing ensemble Men Aloud are about to virtually cross the pond to reach North American audiences. Their first performance special, "Men Aloud: Live From Wales" has been chosen as the premiere Public Television pledge drive program to be aired nationally beginning August 1st.
Winners of the BBC1 hit show "Last Choir Standing," the 20 immaculate young singers have taken the UK by storm introducing thousands of fans to the centuries-old Welsh choir tradition with their rousing interpretations of classic and contemporary hits.
"Men Aloud: Live in Wales" was filmed in the Wales Millennium Center and features special guest performances by opera star Bryn Terfel, John Owen Jones (a leading man of London's West End) and pop icon Bonnie Tyler.
"Men Aloud: Live In Wales" will air throughout August as well as during Public Television's September and December pledge drives. A CD and DVD of the program are available from Public Television stations nationwide and from amazon.com. In addition, MEN ALOUD will tour the U.S. in February of 2011.
