John Legend and Dave Matthews Pairings

At the end of 2009, American Express recruited Dave Matthews and John Legend to participate in their Pairings event. Pairings are showcases of the finest musicians, chefs, and winemakers. This time around, two Pairings happened, one on the East Coast in New York City, with the other on the West Coast in the Napa Valley.
NEW YORK PAIRINGS: The New York pairing featured John Legend, James Beard winning chef Tom Colicchio (also of Top Chef fame), and Susan Lueker, director of Simi Valley. The three gathered at Colicchio's famous restaurant, Craftsteak for the event. www.pairings.com/newyork
NAPA VALLEY PAIRINGS: The Napa Valley Pairing featured musician Dave Matthews, award-winning chef John Besh, and Genevieve Jannsens of Robert Mondavi Winery at the Mondavi Winery to discuss musical influence, great food, and what ties them all together

Now, you can visit the website, www.pairings.com and take a tour by each city's hosts as they talk about their crafts and their passions, and what brings them together in an ICONoclast-style conversation.
The trios gather come up with a meal and playlist for the night then team up with their wine sommelier. The experience is brought alive through videos that document the experience – beginning with an overview, background of the chef, the musician, an intimate look at the actual event festivities, and ending with an intimate performance by the musician.
