Buddy Akai to Headline Project ETHOS Event

04/09/2010
.
San Diego-based music act Buddy Akai will be headlining Project ETHOS, the red-carpet fashion, music, and art showcase, on April 22 at the On Broadway Events Center in downtown San Diego.

The electro/indie/rock band, along with DJs Robb Rockwell and Lady Gaga's very own Space Cowboy, will help highlight the city's local talent in fashion, music and art on one night, under one roof.

Here is the official announcement for the event: After the success of its last L.A. Fashion Week showcase featuring "Project Runway" contestants, Project ETHOS, is excited to launch its first-ever red carpet event in San Diego on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the On Broadway Event Center (615 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101) from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

"San Diego boasts an incredibly diverse and creative scene, which we are excited to highlight with Project ETHOS' latest fashion, music, and art showcase," says Jason Peskin, Executive Director, Project ETHOS. "In terms of fashion, we've identified amazing talent in the local community so we're presenting a unique opportunity for local designers to showcase their lines alongside 'Project Runway' talent."

Season six contestant Gordana Gehlhausen (GOGA by Gordana) and season seven contestant Jesus Estrada (Haus of Estrada) from "Project Runway" are set to headline the show. Other designers and lines include: Stacie Taylor (Stacie May), Eleonore Santos (Garden Party), Jason Herrick (Fortune 421), Ian West (Eco-Panda), and Tiffany Tassano (Organic Planet). Additionally, Tassano's pieces will be on display for purchase, along with her jewelry line TJ's Corner and hair accessories line Chastina by Ashley Perks.

The art portion of Project ETHOS will feature pieces and installations by Joshua Krause (abstract), Sam Luna (abstract), Kelli Murray (Illustration), Sherilyn Tanala Encabo (comic/anime illustration), Meghan Horsburgh (photography), Christy Pepper Dawson (macabre illustrations and paintings), Matt Haward (mixed media), Jeremy Asher Lynch and Yeara. Furthermore, local musical act, Buddy Akai, and DJs Robb Rockwell and Space Cowboy (Lady Gaga) will keep the crowd going throughout the entire evening.

The event's charitable partner is Love Cures Cancer (www.lovecurescancer.com), an organization dedicated to benefiting children with cancer while raising awareness and working to find a cure. Sponsors and partners for the event include Bodyography, EFFEN Vodka, WantTickets.com and ClubPlanet. Tickets are $15 pre-sale, $20 at the door, $40 VIP and can be purchased online at www.ProjectEthos.com. All event attendees must be 18+.

About Project Ethos: Project ETHOS (www.ProjectEthos.com), produces red carpet events showcasing all emerging Millennial Generation forms of creativity in one house, on one night. By merging fashion, music, and art concurrently, we bring into existence a unique avenue for artists of all kind. Through our events, masses bind as one to furnish opportunity for featured artists, as well as arrange a truly invigorating experience for an event goer. Project ETHOS closes the gap between the Indie and Mainstream worlds with an experienced and focused eye for talent. Creating a link to decision makers is what drives us to be a niche portal of exposing all emerging artistry to the media, public and industry.
