John Butler Trio returns with a new power trio and a new label for its first studio album in three years, April Uprising, out TODAY via ATO Records. The album is a potent mixture of rock, hip hop, and reggae/dance hall dominated by Butler's incredible guitar playing and thoughtful, intelligent lyrics. The first single, "One Way Road," is already climbing the Triple A charts and the accompanying video is set to premiere on VH1.
The John Butler Trio North American tour kicks off on May 20, 2010 at the House of Blues in San Diego, culminating on the East Coast in late June, including shows at Central Park Summerstage, a headline date at Red Rocks, Bonnaroo and more. Featuring new bandmates Nicky Bomba (drums and percussion) and Byron Luiters (bass), the newly revitalized JBT will be touring the globe throughout 2010.
