(PR) Coming off a solid summer of touring behind the release of their Virgin Records debut album How To Call A Bluff, pop-rock foursome My Favorite Highway is living up to its own name, enthusiastically taking the scenic route around the country again, by joining "The Cheap Date Tour," with coast-to-coast shows set for late October through early December (full schedule below). My Favorite Highway joins an ace collection of emerging bands for "The Cheap Date Tour," including Forever the Sickest Kids, The Rocket Summer, Sing It Loud, and Artist vs Poet. Young acts Vita and Down With Webster will also be joining selected dates.
Meanwhile, the vibrant, addictively hooky single and video clip "Say So" remains a steady building burner at top 40 radio through this early fall, and the video, shot with witty references to the plot and visuals of the Eighties comedy classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off, is an add on The N and MTVu's fan-driven Freshman video countdown. To date, My Favorite Highway has drawn nearly 7 million song plays on MySpace.com -- with nearly 900,000 for "Say So" alone -- and over 50,000 friends on the social networking site. They also keep close contact with their growing following on Facebook, Twitter and the SayNow personal message network.
Before signing with Virgin Records, the suburban Washington, DC-based group, comprised of David Cook (vocals, piano, guitar), Will Cook (bass), Bobby Morgenthaler (drums) and Pat Jenkins (guitar, vocals) independently released two EP's, using the proceeds from digital and physical sales as seed money to record the independent version of the full-length How To Call A Bluff. Their album tracks have been heard recently on the popular MTV shows Newport Harbor, and The Hills and in the trailer for the latter's spin-off The City. The Virgin Records release of HOW TO CALL A BLUFF was produced by Paul Barber, and mixed by Jeff Juliano (John Mayer, Lifehouse, OAR).
