(PR) As harmonious in their melodic songwriting as their twin lead vocal-guitar attack, Jen de la Osa and Henry Beguiristain are bringing their highly acclaimed rock band Aloud back on the road in November to showcase their fiery live show with a spirited round of select East Coast and Southern dates. Before the nine-city tour's official start, you can catch a preview of their high-energy show at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York during their Official Showcase Oct. 21 at Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn, and the next afternoon at Rockwood Music Hall. Then the band will be southbound to formally kick off the November tour Nov. 8 in Fayetteville, NC.
Continuing to turn heads in support of their sophomore album, FAN THE FURY (Lemon Merchant Records), the edgy indie rockers, hailed by Northeast Performer for their "unmistakable rock and roll stage presence" and "bona fide star power," continues to test boundaries and expectations. ALOUD "evokes the glory days of FM radio," says the Boston Herald, getting airplay on over 100 college radio stations since FAN THE FURY's release.
The album is an emotionally charged dichotomy of passionate rebellion and contemplative acceptance, from a band that delivers driving grooves and dynamic melodies wrapped in themes of struggle, perseverance, injustice and love. Boston Metro applauds ALOUD's songwriting hooks and power-rock charm," but like many media observers, is particularly keen on the "step back" voice of de la Osa, whose "monster pipes" (Seven Days, VT) can cause her to howl "like the lost love child of Kim Deal and Patti Smith." de la Osa's singing "chisels every lyric into stone" (Boston Herald) and also has drawn comparisons to Chrissie Hynde, Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde), Janis Joplin and Ann Wilson, among many others, while the band's influences range from the Clash to Oasis and Arcade Fire.
