(PR) Ruf Records announces the release of the first-ever concert recording together of blues/rock legends Jack Bruce and Robin Trower on Seven Moons Live, to be released in the U.S. on October 13. The new CD also features drummer Gary Husband, who's worked with John McLaughlin and Gary Moore, among others. Ruf Records is distributed nationally in the U.S. by the Allegro Corporation. The new CD was recorded in Nijmegen, Holland, in February of this year in front of a wildly-enthusiastic crowd that had traveled from all across Europe to be a part of this special event. Seven Moons Live features a dozen songs, including eight live versions of tunes Bruce and Trower had recorded on their critically-acclaimed Seven Moons studio album released in early 2008; one track ("Carmen") originally recorded by Bruce and Trower with the B.L.T. trio in 1981; and three exciting re-workings of classic Jack Bruce songs - "Sunshine of Your Love," "White Room," and "Politician" - from his days as a member of the supergroup, Cream.
The Seven Moons Live recording was only the band's third show on the tour, but the amazing interplay amongst the musicians, coupled with their fantastic chemistry, is imminently present throughout the album. As Jack Bruce enthuses after one of the first few songs, "Now we are beginning to get somewhere!"
For over four decades, Jack Bruce has been hailed as one of the most powerful singers and bass players of his time, whose improvisational skills on his instrument revolutionized the electric bass and influenced generations of musicians. A member of the rock 'n roll Hall of Fame group, Cream, Bruce has always been an adventuresome player, having recorded with such legends as bluesman John Mayall and jazz giant Tony Williams, demonstrating the breadth of his talent.
Robin Trower's career has also spanned over 40 years, including five albums with the seminal prog-rock band, Procol Harum, before launching his solo career with a trio format in 1972 and producing a series of gold-selling albums such as Twice Removed from Yesterday and Bridge of Sighs. Trower's amazing power as a guitarist is only exceeded by his firm grasp of tone and the soul he exhibits in his fluid solos and rhythm work. Robin Trower has also released one prior album on Ruf Records, Living Out of Time Live.
Jack Bruce and Robin Trower recently completed another tour of Europe, hitting Italy, Norway and the UK. Robin Trower has also just begun a U.S. tour that will take him and his band to the northeast and the south, ending in mid-October.
A DVD of the concert is also being released through Music Video Distributors.
