Kaitlyn Maher, the 5-year-old singer and budding actress seen by millions on "America's Got Talent," is set to release her debut CD, You Were Meant To Be, on November 26. Released through Kaitlyn's website (www.KaitlynMaher.com) on Thanksgiving, the CD will also be available through iTunes, Amazon.com and other major distributors in early December.
Produced by Grammy award winner Robert Reynolds (The Mavericks) and Scotty Huff (former guitarist for Keith Urban), You Were Meant To Be features a number of musicians who have played with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including the Dave Matthews Band, Kid Rock, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill, George Strait, Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant.
Kaitlyn co-wrote two of the CD's most memorable songs, "Daddy, I Love You" and "Dreams Come True." "Daddy, I Love You" is a ballad written by a loving daughter to her doting dad as she grows up, and "Dreams Come True" is the first song Kaitlyn ever wrote.
The album includes a new arrangement of "I Can See Clearly Now," which showcases a bit of Kaitlyn's spunky side, while the title cut, "You Were Meant to Be," offers encouragement during difficult times. Other standout tracks include Kaitlyn's version of "Amazing Grace," featuring a beautiful piano intro, and "Somewhere Out There," a live-performance favorite that Kaitlyn first sang on "America's Got Talent."
Kaitlyn recently made her film debut in the just released Disney movie, "Santa Buddies," and was also selected by Disney to be the lead actress in "The Search for Santa Paws," which is scheduled for release in November 2010.
After becoming the youngest Top 10 finalist ever on "America's Got Talent," Kaitlyn was invited to entertain at the White House for then-President and First Lady Bush. She has also headlined at large venues throughout the country and appeared on The Today Show, Access Hollywood, ESPN, and in People magazine.
Compassion International, one of the largest aid organizations in the world, has selected Kaitlyn to be their first Child Ambassador to raise awareness and address global child poverty. She will visit Guatemala on behalf of the organization to bring relief to the children in need there. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from her You Were Meant to Be CD will benefit Compassion International's efforts. She also begins a media campaign in mid-December, where she will perform songs from her album and recently released Christmas singles.
