Pigeon Versus Statue is pleased to announce the US release of Three Fact Fader, the new album from Engineers out on Kscope. The album, produced by Ken Thomas (M83, Sigur Ros, Cocteau Twins, Maps) is a blistering clash of swirling guitars and gorgeously dreamy harmonies that simultaneously carves Engineers a position along side other classic Shoegaze bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Chaperhouse and Ride, and transcends the genre in creating what is a distinctively unique sound that is nothing short of
Engineers.
Three Fact Fader is a bigger, bolder record than 2005's eponymous debut. Sonically there are similarities between the two albums: a penchant for Phil Spector-esque walls of sound, epic and emotive soundscapes that both lyrically and musically provide a space to immerse oneself into, and a supreme use of washed-out harmonies that would make Brian Wilson blush.
There are however some differences. These lay not only in the expansion and evolution of some of the epic song stylings that helped to create their debut, but also the presence of a more rhythmic and groove-based album. Three Fact Fader is unquestionably Engineers' most assured work to date: as comfortable forming the soundtrack to an evening sofa-surfing as it is a late-night dance-floor. - You can preview and buy it here
