LimeWire Offer Free Ear to the Ground Compilations

11/05/2009
.
(PR) LimeWire Store has unveiled two phenomenal compilations featuring a litany of promising indie talent: Ear to the Ground: Nashville and Ear to the Ground: Portland.

Curated by the staff of Nashville Scene, Ear to the Ground: Nashville is a sprawling 17-track compendium featuring some of Music City's best up-and-coming talent such as Cortney Tidwell, Those Darlins, The Deep Vibration, JEFF the Brotherhood, and Caitlin Rose. "When LimeWire approached us about putting together a free compilation of Nashville bands, it was probably the easiest 'yes' we've said in a while," said Steve Haruch, Music Editor of Nashville Scene. "Any time we have a chance to get the word out to a wider audience about what's going on here, we jump at it."

Likewise, Ear to the Ground: Portland, which was overseen by Willamette Week, showcases 17 of the city's indie acts on the verge including Lifesavas, Panther, YACHT, Starf**ker, and Blind Pilot. "We were so stoked to craft a virtual mixtape for the folks at LimeWire Store," said Casey Jarman, Music Editor at Willamette Week. "There's lots of talk these days about localism being dead, but these kinds of collections remind listeners that geography still has a lot to do with an artists' sounds and aesthetics. Ear to the Ground compilations are fantastic primers, and we think this is a pretty amazing primer for Portland music." - Both free digital compilations are available exclusively here
