(PR) Weezer is telling their fans that "Weez in charge" once again, as the band prepares to use its own A.P.E. Radio virtual airwaves this week to feature the brand new songs from their highly anticipated album, Raditude. Beginning on Tuesday, November 3rd at 12:01 am, the multi-platinum band will blast out one new song at the top of each hour on "Radio Weezer," along with exclusive interviews featuring the stories behind the making of their long-awaited seventh album.
When the public first tuned into "Radio Weezer" upon its August 28th launch, they heard selected playlists of some of the band's favorite songs, plus members' personal contributions and band news. That was just the beginning. Starting Tuesday morning, fans can hear frontman Rivers Cuomo on a multitude of topics such as his favorite track on the new album ("Can't Stop Partying" which he co-wrote with Jermaine Dupri); the band's new sound; his addiction to Twitter; writing a song with Aly & AJ; and the singer's choice in fashion, including facial hair and why he grew that mustache. Also joining the station will be band friend Karl Koch- Webmaster, historian and "unofficial fifth member." All that content and music serves to make "Radio Weezer" an alternative station unlike any other.
"Radio Weezer" is distributed across Clear Channel Radio's "iheartradio" network widget(www.iheartradio.com), which includes hundreds of local radio websites; the popular iheartradio mobile app, which has been downloaded by 3.7 million people; widgets; and www.Weezer.com. Just like the other A.P.E. stations - "Christina Aguilera Radio," "Eagles Radio Hosted by Joe Walsh" and "Megadeth Radio" - fans can participate in "Radio Weezer" by emailing their comments to weezer@aperadio.com or calling 1-866-686-1010.
Weezer has released six full-length albums, five EPs, and a DVD since forming in 1992. The band's seventh studio album, Raditude, has already previewed with the release of its first single, "(If You're Wondering if I Want You To) I Want You To". Weezer will embark on a headlining tour in December through January 2010.
