(PR) Dandy Warhols will be hitting the road this September, stopping first in Indianapolis before heading off to Kansas City, Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Albuquerque. The last stop of their tour will be at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, where the band will be closing out the final day of Monolith alongside Phoenix, among many others.
The dates follow a successful Fall 2008 North American tour supporting
Earth To The Dandy Warhols..., the band's sixth full-length and first on their own label, Beat The World Records. The dates also follow the release of The Dandy Warhols ARE Sound, the "Director's Cut" of 2003's Welcome To The Monkey House. The Dandy Warhols ARE Sound comes out July 14, 2009.
While the studio albums showcase their instrumental ability and frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor's lyrical witticisms, it's live where they seem most vibrant, and where they're truly given the space to explore their psychedelic and alternative pop roots. Sweeping guitars and keyboards combine with melodic hooks to create an experience that is both impressively expansive and wholly entertaining.
Tickets go on-sale to the public this Saturday, June 27 (Indianapolis
on-sale 6/26, Monolith already on-sale), but the presale is already running on www.dandywarhols.com and myspace.com/thedandywarhols. All shows are all ages, and opening on each date will be neo-psychedelic
Spaghetti-Western band Spindrift, who released their record The West on Beat The World in November 2008.
