(PR) In continued celebration of their 10th Anniversary and the launch of their record label, Royal Family Records, Soulive will host a one-day festival featuring some of their closest friends. The band has invited John Scofield, who will join the band during their festival closing performance, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Charlie Hunter Trio and soul singer Nigel Hall to join them for the festivities. More artists will be announced in the coming months."Soulive has always wanted to host our own festival and bring together some of the artists who we've grown with over the years," says Soulive guitarist Eric Krasno. "With this year's Royal Family Get Down we have a lot to celebrate and we're lucky to have such a great line up and a venue that we love in the Pines Theater."
The festival will take place at the intimate Pines Theater at Look Park in Northampton, MA on Saturday September 12, 2009. The Pines Theater has gained a reputation as one of the most picturesque outdoor venues in America for its intimate seating and tree-lined stage in beautiful western Massachusetts. The Royal Family Get Down will feature the full line of Magic Hat Brewing Company's Fall line of brews!
Tickets for the festival will go on-sale Friday, May 29*, at www.royalfamilyrecords.com/getdown. Tickets for the Get Down will cost $32.50 for lawn tickets and $40 for reserved seats. VIP Packages are available for $75 and include reserved seating, a signed Royal Family Get Down poster, a CD copy of the performance available immediately following the last set and a backstage pass to meet the band.
Soulive will release its new album Up Here on CD (with bonus DVD containing live footage from the Blue Note Tokyo 2008) and vinyl (with digital download) on July 7.
