(PR) Ryan Roxie- Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter releases second Roxie 77 album entitled "Two Sides to Every Story". Roxie, who has been recording, writing, and touring with household names such as Alice Cooper, GnR's Slash (Slash's Snakepit), and Gilby Clarke among others has always maintained his "own" band over the years. Whether it's been called Roxie 77, Happypill, or D.P.M. (Dad's Porno Mag), Ryan has always been able to release albums containing many of the songs that are the closest to him and speak straight from the heart.
"Two Sides to Every Story" is the most personal album coming from Roxie 77 to date, available exclusively at www.roxie77.com The name "Roxie 77" has been resurrected after Roxie's extended "sabbatical" to the country of Sweden. After many years of living in Los Angeles, Roxie made the decision to "finish a chapter, but not close the book" on his life's journey and relocated to Stockholm with his two children and their mother, V.
There, he formed the band Happypill, which released 2 singles and played the Scandinavian circuit culminating in the support slot for KISS at Stockholm's Olympic Stadion. This band primarily consisted of what is now the current line-up of Roxie 77 which is:
Anton Kφrberg- Drums, b. vocals
Eric Rydman- Guitar, Piano, b. vocals
Magnus Wikstrφm- Bass, b. vocals
Ryan Roxie- Vocals, Guitar
Upon the completion of the debut album, the band opted for the name change for a couple of reasons. Roxie explains, "In many ways, changing back to 'old' name of the band signified a 'new' beginning for us here in Sweden. Plus, by having the name Roxie 77 back in the international fold, it gave many of the people that have been kind enough to follow my career through it's roller-coaster twists and turns a chance to 'rediscover' the songs and music that makes Roxie 77 what it uniquely is."
And speaking of "Unique", everything surrounding the Roxie 77 "Two Sides" release seems to be implementing new, fresh, and yes, "unique" thinking. For example, R77 uses the patented-pending ideas of the "Conscience-FREE Download" (C.F.D.) and "Spitting the Profits" (S.T.P.) where people can download selected tracks every week off the roxie77.com site absolutely FREE (no guilt!). Or if one feels they want to contribute anything at all to the album fund, 50% goes directly to charities. Everyone wins- the fans, the band, and the charities that help people who need it most.
Even the album title "Two Sides to Every Story" has a concept to it. The 12-track album will contain 1 electric and 1 acoustic version of EACH song, hence 24 tracks total. The completely different versions represent the "Two sides" of each "story", or song. Each week, a "new" song will be added to the currently available tracks that are now online. The newly added songs become "Songs of the Week" and are eligible for the conscience-FREE download...as long as you keep coming back to the roxie77.com site once a week, it's theoretically possible to get the entire album for free...but then again, anything you do "buy", gets "split" with a reputable charity organization.
"I would just like everyone to take '7' minutes out of their busy schedules and drop by roxie77.com to see and hear what I'm talking about," says Roxie. "I think we have constructed a web page that is easy to understand and allows people to experience the band in the cyber-environment they feel most comfortable in (Myspace, Facebook,Youtube, etc..). Come to roxie77.com, read a little of our 'latest news' then hit one of the 4 buttons and zoom...you're off to listen to our music, follow us on your favorite community sites, or go and watch exclusive behind the scene clips from the making of the album."
The idea is simple: With their new album "Two Sides to Every Story" and their innovative ideas on how to promote and market themselves, Roxie 77 is doing their best to make the world a better place....with better music.
Come and join the party.....
