Fine, who manages the Chili Peppers, had spoken with Flea several times during the day about the stories that the famed bassist was taking part in a Faces reunion (something Rod Stewart also denied). "Flea doesn't know where these stories are coming from," Fine said. "But I can't tell you for a fact that, as far as him joining The Faces, it's simply not true."
When asked about the message on the Chili Peppers' website, Fine sighed and said, "That was taken from a story from Rolling Stone, and frankly, I don't know how that got up there.
