.
(PR) Randy Blythe, vocalist for Virginia-based metal band Lamb Of God, is currently auctioning off his Grammy medallion that accompanied the band's nomination for "Best Metal Performance" at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in 2007. 100% of the money generated from the online auction will benefit the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation. The widget to bid on Randy's Grammy medallion is available at this location Randy commented on the auction: "It feels really awesome for me to have the opportunity to help out my good friend Todd, his two boys, and all other people affected by this horrible disease. While touring, making records, and jamming for the fans is a dream job and a complete blast, helping kids out, who through no fault of their own are truly fighting for their lives, feels even better. This tragic situation is personal to me - the great news is that there have been significant advances in research recently, and a cure is definitely in sight! WE CAN BEAT THIS THING. If you can, please bid on the medallion - I'll personally sign it over to ya! If not, you can donate what you can afford to the cause - every penny really does count. For more information and to bid/donate, go to www.myotonic.com or www.stonecircleoffriends.com. Please help if you can- at least inform yourself and help spread the news. Thanks so much! D. Randall" Bidding closes Saturday, February 7, (the day before this year's Grammy Awards ceremony) at 10PM EST / 7PM PST. LAMB OF GOD is currently set to play a brief UK tour before returning home to headline the No Fear Energy Music Tour, which kicks off April 2. The band will be releasing their fifth studio album, WRATH, February 24 on Epic Records.
