Def Leppard The Cartoon TV Series?

Def Leppard used a comic book theme in the video for "Woman," the first single from their mega-selling 'Hysteria' album. Now it appears the band may take things a step further with a cartoon TV series. Last week Def Leppard announced that they inked a deal with Primary Wave Music Publishing & Marketing. Deals like this are signed all the time so we didn't cover the announcement. However, Reuters spoke with the CEO of the company and learned that one of their big plans is for an animated television show based on Def Leppard. "The project is still in the early stages, and has not been pitched to the networks, but it will depict the five members of the group in a fictional, adventurous setting, said Primary Wave CEO Larry Mestel." They apparently have gaming and cell phone plans as well. moreHere are the general comments from the band and the company about the partnership: "We couldn't be happier to be a part of the Primary Wave family," said Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott. "I am confident that Primary Wave is the best partner to tastefully market our catalog of songs to a wider popular culture audience." Commented Phil Collen, one of the band's guitarists, "I'm excited to expand the reach and influence of our group and our songs." Said bassist Rick "Sav" Savage, "We are looking forward to this new and exciting relationship as a way to expose our songs to a new youth audience." "Def Leppard is one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of our time," said Primary Wave CEO Larry Mestel. "We are honored to have the chance to work with them and are confident that we will be able to build upon the impact of their songs and the legacy that they will no doubt have for generations to come."
