Live At Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, released November 25, 2008, was recorded over a series of nights at the famed London jazz club in 2007. Backed by bassist Tal Wilkenfeld, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, and keyboardist Jason Rebello, Beck presents 16 genre-spanning songs, incorporating Blues, Boogie, Ballads, Bolero, Rock and Jazz. His unique interpretation of the Beatles' tune is just one example of the brilliance of this guitar virtuoso. "It gives us a great deal of pride to be associated with an artist such as Jeff Beck," says Mike Carden, Eagle Rock Entertainment's President of Operations North America. "His guitar playing sets him apart and in a class of his own. His nomination for a Grammy is a fitting tribute to his performance on this project." This Grammy acknowledgement is a welcome addition to the many successes Performing This Week
has achieved. The DVD, released March 2009 via Eagle Rock, still resides on the music DVD Soundscan charts after 35 weeks. It hit #1 and remained in the top 10 for 14 weeks. The DVD was also released in the high-def Blu-ray format. Additionally, Jeff Beck was honored this year for his influential contributions to rock music and his unmatched guitar prowess with an induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. Also nominated in the "Best Rock Instrumental Performance" category are tracks from Brad Paisley, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Steve Vai, and Booker T. Jones.
