On the heels of their highly successful self-titled sophomore album, the multi-platinum band The Fray was nominated for two Grammy awards, with nominations for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("Never Say Never") and Best Pop Vocal Album (The Fray). The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards will air live on CBS Television Networks from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, on January 31, 2010. "We're pretty stoked to get a couple nominations again this record. You never know how your art will be received and it's a privilege to hear we got some folks excited about it over there in that Grammyland," said Isaac Slade of The Fray. The band had previously been nominated for two Grammy Awards during the 2007 ceremony for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal ("Over My Head (Cable Car)") and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal ("How to Save a Life"). "I'm not going to lie, I hope we leave the Staples Center in January with a gold record player," said Joe King of The Fray. "Either way, it's a huge honor to be nominated for our song and our album especially along side the other artists in our categories. We want to say thank you for all that have believed in us and that have recognized our art as being worthy enough for the Grammy's." The Fray recently released a very special two disc-deluxe edition of their Epic Records sophomore album, The Fray. The album features a bonus disc with eight rare and/or previously unreleased versions of their hit songs, "Never Say Never," "How to Save a Life," "Heartless" and the brand new song "Be the One," making it the ultimate "must have" for The Fray fan. The two disc-deluxe edition recaps all ten tracks on The Fray, which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 chart and on iTunes, sparked in part by the album's huge success of the first single "You Found Me." The song hit 2X platinum with a Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit, while the second single "Never Say Never" is gold and growing. The band is preparing to release their third single "Syndicate" with an accompanying video in the new year. Forming in 2002, Denver-based The Fray is comprised of Isaac Slade (vocals, piano), Joe King (guitar, vocals), Ben Wysocki (drums) and Dave Welsh (guitar), the band has struck a huge chord with audiences and turned their organic grassroots efforts into major success, selling over 4 million albums and 12 million singles worldwide including the multi-platinum hit songs "You Found Me", "How To Save A Life" and "Over My Head (Cable Car)."
