(Audible Treats) D.Black's new album, Ali'Yah, will be available September 15th via Sportn' Life Records/MYX Music Label. The word "we" shows itself in nearly every phase of D.Black's forthcoming sophomore album, Ali'Yah, creating a theme of community; music for everyone. His motivational messages, combined with smooth, flowing rhymes and a classic soul feel, not to mention impeccable production, build to the song "Yesterday."
The tune, produced by both D.Black and B. Brown, is an anthem for looking forward; letting go of yesterday's evil. D.Black says, "On a more spiritual level, it means to not look back, by which you'd be giving life again to the evil nature that works contrary to pure spirit."
The refrain closes with the phrase, "We don't know what tomorrow brings," emphasizing the positive, heartfelt, and forward-looking message of the track. About his collaborator on the song's instrumental, D.Black says, "Working with B. Brown, who is my Brother in faith and in Law, is a divine appointment every time."
Jake One and D.Black's musical collaboration goes back to when D.Black was still in his teens, when they were introduced through common friend and collaborator, Vitamin D. What began as a big brother/ little brother relationship has gradually developed into a strong, mutual musical friendship. As they collaborate with each other, Jake One talks about his experiences with D.Black, and watching his music develop into the incredible sound that it is now.
