The Story Of AC/DC Retold

04/30/2009
.
(PR) Let There Be Rock - The Story Of AC/DC will be re-released on May 1, 2009 featuring a new chapter, an interview with Angus Young from November 4, 2008, new photographs and an audio CD of an interview done with all five band members (including Bon Scott) from their first American tour on December 4, 1977.

Let There Be Rock is the story of AC/DC written by rock journalist Susan Masino, who met the band during their first American tour in 1977. Over the years, she remained in contact with them, watching AC/DC climb to international stardom. Since 1977, Susan has interviewed the band many times and their friendship has lasted nearly three decades. Now she tells the true story of AC/DC's illustrious career and how they became one of the true great rock 'n' roll bands in history.

The book traces the band's history, from their beginnings in Sydney, Australia in the early 1970s to trail-blazing the US mainstream to the devastating death of lead singer Bon Scott in 1980. The band pulled together and rebounded to the top of the charts with new front man, Brian Johnson and the watershed album, Back in Black. Through it all, AC/DC continues their quest to build a legion of new fans in the 21st century.

Interviewed for this book: Dave Evans, original singer for AC/DC; Tommy Redd, guitarist with the band NANTUCKET; Keith Emerson, renowned keyboardist/synthesist for the band, EMERSON, LAKE, AND PALMER; Kirk Dyer, tour Manager for CHEAP TRICK for 25 years; Perry Cooper, The late Atlantic Records executive and friend of the band; Raymond Windlow, former Australian roadie and friend of the band; Julius Grafton, former Australian lighting technician, now owner of CX magazine and Juliusmedia College in Melbourne; Kelly Shaefer, lead singer for ATHEIST/BIG MACHINE; Don Williams, fan in England who appears in an AC/DC video "Pyro"; Pete Cappadocia, pyro technician for AC/DC since 1982; Rick Brewster, guitarist for the Australian band, The Angels; Mike Andy, tour Manager for AC/DC for four world tours from 1985-1995.

Let There Be Rock - The Story of AC/DC, originally released in October 2006, has now been printed in seven languages.
