(antiMusic) A PR firm sent us a statement from Hits & Jams Entertainment, the promoters of the August 30, 2008 concert featuring Akon where the rap star reportedly "tossed" two female fans during the show. They claim those reports are false.Ace Show Biz reports that Akon "was videotaped, in between performances on the show, trying to 'crowdsurf to a camera stand about 100 yards off stage' and when he got there he grabbed one of the female fans and pushed her into the crowd as she tried to hold his hand. He then grabbed the other lady who tried to embrace him from behind and tossed her into the crowd." The promoters put out an "unedited" clip of the incident to show the "full story".
Here is the statement we received: "We are shocked to hear that there is a video clip circulating that suggests Akon treated a fan badly during his August 30th performance in Guyana. There were no incident reports stemming from the event. Despite a late start, the concert was a tremendous success and we hope that Akon will come back soon."
