(PR) In its first week of release, Snow Patrol's A Hundred Million Suns landed in the top ten in the United States, number two in the United Kingdom, and continues to sit at number 1 in their beloved homeland Ireland. Awed, singer Gary Lightbody offered his thanks: "We care little about chart positions, but I have to admit feeling very proud. It is a great privilege to do what we do and be rewarded for it by the love and success we've had around the world over the last few years. This album means everything to us and we are delighted you have taken to it."
Before being immersed in a sold out U.K. arena tour, the band will tour stateside with a special show at New York's Bowery Ballroom, radio shows in Baton Rouge, Dallas, and Denver, and wrap up with three FREE shows in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and San Diego.
While in New York, the band will also showcase the results of a New York City kindergarten class's illustrated interpretations of their album's title, A Hundred Million Suns. In return, the class will receive a donation from Snow Patrol to their school's art program and the winning artwork will be displayed at their December 1 show at the Bowery Ballroom.
